Pressure Filter Systems

Petro Barrier Systems has constructed filter systems with continuous operating pressures ranging from 0 to 125psi and flow rates of up to 100 USG per minute. Higher pressure and higher volume systems are able to be designed and implemented upon request, and overall flow rates and the physical size of the system are scaled based on customer requirement. Pressure Filter Systems can range from small systems for onboard personal watercraft to large systems suitable for hazmat water handling at large power utility sites, and can be created either as an add-on to an existing water handling system or designed from the ground up.

For marina use, Petro Barrier Systems has created a complete pressure filter suite called the MarineGuard P3, which incorporates a Pressure Filter System as part of a comprehensive water treatment and recycling plan.

Why Filter Under Pressure?

Many water handling systems run under pressure, and having to incorporate unpressurized storage tanks simply to accomadate a filtration system is an additional expense and complexity that may not be feasible for many applications. Also, space considerations may make the addition of too much extra equipment difficult if not impossible. To date, Petro Barrier Systems has seen demand for systems capable of running under pressure from three main areas: marine applications both on-water and on-shore; automotive workshops cleaning wastewater before release into municiple sewer systems; and large industrial sites with high flow rates of water within pressurized pumping systems.

All of these applications are suitable environs for a Pressure Filter System. Tailored in size and pressure capability for the installation site, our Pressure Filters can be configured to remove hydrocarbons, heavy metals, or a number of other contaminants based on local needs. The capability of these systems to remove a variety of contaminants can make a Pressure Filter System ideal for manufacturing facilities concerned with reducing water use, allowing a significant portion of their waste water to be recycled instead of being released into municiple water systems. For smaller operators, an onboard Pressure Filter System on a boat can properly treat dirty, oily bilge water while at sea instead of having to wait for dockside facilities to be available, and remove the possibility of contaminated water leaking out into the marine environment.
